The panel is moderated by David Sills, VP, Global Risk Management, Walmart Stores, Inc., and includes Valerie Franco, VP of Risk Management, Lowe’s Companies, Inc., and Max Koonce, Managing Director, Sedgwick Claims Management Services. The panel begins with the premise that risk managers’ have the ability and duty to be proactive in driving the performance of claims management. Given that the quality of the claims management will have a major impact on a company’s financial performance in the short, medium, and long term, managing the relationship between the risk manager and the TPA is critical. The group’s discussion will focus on “lessons learned” by these experts in claims management and discuss what builds and drives an effective relationship between claims management and the insured.
